About Chemical Peel
Chemical Peel is a procedure commonly used to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and eyes, caused by years of sun damage or natural aging. As the name implies, a chemical solution is applied to the facial wrinkles, which peels away the top layer of skin, leaving a softer, smoother, and more supple appearance.
The procedure can take from 30 minutes to two hours to complete, depending on the extent of the area to be treated. Some patients may experience discomfort such as swelling, throbbing, redness, etc., and, although rare, allergic reactions may occur. Any pain can be controlled with medication.
Be careful to avoid the sun, and remember, always wear sunblock when outdoors for your own protection.
As with all cosmetic surgery, results will be rewarding if expectations are realistic.
