This 29-year-old patient from Manhattan, NY (New York City) had asymmetrical male breasts, called unilateral gynecomastia. This condition occurs in one third of all gynecomastia cases. He was embarrassed with his large right breast, which was 2x the size of his left breast. This condition started at about the age of 8 to 12 years old and has not grown in size since the age of 18. He dealt with his gynecomastia by avoiding exposing his chest area and wearing thicker or extra layers of clothing. He was pleased when he learned that Dr. Blau is an award-winning sculptor and painter and an accomplished author and world authority regarding gynecomastia surgery. Surgery included removal of the fatty tissue of the larger breast and liposuction, no surgery was performed on the left breast.
